Academic Support
College offers countless opportunities for learning and growth, and presents new challenges and, at times, new stressors. Sometimes life outside of the classroom can compromise students’ academic success. When things feel overwhelming or chaotic, Academic Navigators can help students find balance, develop productive habits, and maintain well-being.
How We Help
Academic Navigators work alongside academic advisors to support student success and well-being. They help connect students to appropriate resources and help them identify plans for achieving academic, personal, and career goals. Academic Navigators reach out to students who are disengaged from their classes and provide support, encouragement, and options moving forward. Academic Navigators can assist in a variety of situations:
- "I failed my first exam—what do I do?"
- "I commute to campus, and I haven’t made any friends on campus."
- "I don’t feel like I belong here."
- "It’s my first year on campus, and I don’t know if I’m doing it ‘right."
- "I need help with time management."
How to Schedule
Each college within the university has one or two Academic Navigators. First and second year students will see their assigned Navigator in Student Success Hub. Third and fourth year students can schedule with an Academic Navigator based on their college.
